'World's Leading Trademark Professionals 2016' Recognizes Doug Isenberg

The World Trademark Review (WTR) has recognized Doug Isenberg of The GigaLaw Firm as a "recommended expert" in its 2016 edition of "The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals." WTR describes its list as "the definitive resource for those seeking legal trademark expertise." ABA Journal Includes GigaLaw in Its Top 100 Blogs

Editors of the ABA Journal announced that they have selected GigaLaw as one of the top 100 best blogs for a legal audience. The GigaLaw blog is included in the "9th Annual Blawg 100," a list of the magazine's 100 favorite legal blogs. The ABA Journal says the list recognizes "the very best law blogs, known for their untiring ability to craft high-quality, engaging posts."

The GigaLaw blog, authored exclusively by attorney Doug Isenberg, focuses on Internet-related legal issues, especially domain name disputes and other forms of online brand protection. Doug created the GigaLaw website in 2000 and relaunched it in 2015 with a new blog focusing on unique analysis and insights about Internet law topics, drawing from Doug's nearly 20 years as a domain name attorney and his experience as an arbitrator or panelist for the major domain name dispute providers.

The ABA Journal is the flagship magazine of the American Bar Association, and it is read by half of the nation’s 1.1 million lawyers every month. It covers the trends, people and finances of the legal profession.

Doug Isenberg Speaks in London on Domain Name Disputes

Doug IsenbergDoug Isenberg of The GigaLaw Firm made a presentation on November 11, 2015, at the Law Society in London on the topic of "How The New gTLDs Are Impacting Domain Name Disputes." The presentation included an overview of the new Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) and its limitations; trends under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP); and the relevance of the top-level domain name in a dispute. Doug's presentation was a part of an annual domain seminar organized by MarkMonitor. The title of this year's seminar was ".coming? Adapting Your Brand in an Evolving Domain Landscape."

Doug Isenberg Presents to WIPO Domain Name Panelists in Geneva

Doug Isenberg, outside the offices of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, November 2, 2015 Doug Isenberg of The GigaLaw Firm presented an update to the annual meeting of domain name panelists at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 2, 2015.

Doug's presentation, titled "New gTLDs: URS and UDRP," provided attendees with important insights into the new Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) and how the new generic top-level domain names are impacting domain name disputes.

The WIPO meeting was attended by nearly 100 domain name panelists from around the world, representing 26 countries.

Doug serves as a WIPO domain name panelist, where he regularly issues decisions under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP). He also serves as a domain name panelist at three other dispute providers, including as a URS panelist at the Forum (formerly the National Arbitration Forum), where he wrote some of the first decisions under the new URS policy.

In addition to serving as a panelist, Doug frequently represents trademark owners in domain name disputes and transactions.
