Vringo subsidiary I/P Engine had sued Google, AOL, IAC/InterActive and other companies, alleging that they infringed on patents covering ways of filtering Internet search results to make them more relevant. A jury agreed, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed that decision.
