New York Times Suffers Denial-of-Service Attack

The New York Times Company was a victim of online attacks that slowed down The New York Times Web site and limited access to articles and other types of content. According to Danielle Rhoades Ha, a company spokeswoman, the Web site became unavailable to “a small number of users” after a denial-of-service attack, a tactic used by hackers to slow or halt Web traffic by bombarding a host site with requests for information.
