Manhattan U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer gave the government permission to use Facebook as a way of serving defendants pleadings, motions and other documents. The defendants, a collection of companies and individuals located in India, are accused of tricking people into believing they have spyware and viruses on their computers, and getting them to spend hundreds of dollars to "fix" the problems.
