Network Appliance filed a patent lawsuit against Sun Microsystems, alleging that Sun's ZFS storage software, a key element to its Solaris operating system, violates seven of its patents. NetApp, which filed its lawsuit Wednesday in a U.S. District Court in Texas, alleges Sun violates patents relating to data processing systems and related software.
