Judge Orders Illegal Tax Advice Website Shut Down

A Web site that sells materials stating that individuals can legally stop paying taxes has been shut on the order of a federal judge. Judge Thomas J. McAvoy, a senior judge in the Northern District of New York who issued the order on Aug. 9, wrote that the First Amendment did not protect the two organizations that operate the Web site, or their founder, because the site incited criminal conduct.
