BSA Seeks Settlements 2-3 Times Price of Software

Last year, more than 300 companies were busted by the Business Software Alliance for having illegal software and ended up paying fines averaging $43,000 each. "We look at the software that is unlicensed and we usually seek a settlement that is usually two or three times the price of the software," said Jenny Blank, BSA's senior director of enforcement.
