A much-anticipated face-off between a key Democratic-dominated U.S. Senate panel and the Republican-controlled Federal Communications Commission confirmed lingering tensions over the government's role on issues like Net neutrality and media ownership rules. But the first appearance here since 2004 of all five FCC commissioners before the Senate Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the agency's duties, lacked the fireworks some had predicted.
