Hong Kong, Japan Sentence Defendants in Copyright Cases

Defendants convicted in copyright infringement cases in Hong Kong and Japan were sentenced, resulting in jail time and a fine, respectively. In Hong Kong, Chan Nai-ming lost an appeal in Tuen Mun Magistrates' Court, after he was convicted in November of illegally distributing copyrighted material using a peer-to-peer network, specifically BitTorrent's file sharing software.
