Vietnam Cracking Down on Internet Use, Report Says

A climate of fear exists in Vietnam as the government clamps down on political activists -- many of them in the Bay Area -- who use the Internet to challenge the country's one-party system, according to a new report by Amnesty International. The Internet crackdown comes at a time when some political openness is actually occurring in the country, said T. Kumar, Amnesty International's advocacy director for Asia and the Pacific.
