A federal appeals court revived Xerox Corp.'s lawsuit against Palm Inc. and former parent company 3Com Corp. over handwriting-recognition software. The U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C. ruled that a Rochester, N.Y., judge erred in ruling two elements of a Xerox patent invalid, and remanded the case for reconsideration.
